STOP!!!

Do you ever feel like you are NEVER going to finish a card? The card that I am going to show you today I have worked on, on and off, for 5 days! Probably about5-6 hours! REALLY! I had completely started over TWICE! With that being said I am sure you are thinking, "WOW...I bet this is will be an awarding winning design that will be published in all crafting magazines since Aimee has put so much effort into this creation!" (LOL) Well, I am sorry to disappoint, but it probably won't. I was having a bit of a mind block when it came to using the beautiful colors in the new Challenge called, "Color Me Beautiful." A friend of mine, Shana Gaff, has been name to her first Design Team, and I am so proud of her!! I look forward to what Shana and the rest of the Design Team will have in store to inspire us every week!!

The Challenge #1-Hens and Chicks states that you need to use at least 3 of the 5 colors they provide. Well...I think my problem was when I thought I could use all 5!! I love ALL the colors but for some reason it was hard for me to use them together. So I kept adding and changing and removing and adding and....(you know how this goes!) Finally, I had something that I thought would be worthy of entering. Here is my card...
I did have a lot of fun with the water coloring technique I used. I used the Shimmery white card stock and pick up reinker color with an Aquapainter and colored diagonally across the paper. When it dried, I lightly spritzed water on top the painted surface to give it a spotted look. When it dried I stamped the image with VersaMark and added white embossing powder. I then used the Apothecary Framelits to cut out the image.
I love to use my Stampin' Write markers to color on my stamps, but it can be very hard not to overlap colors. On this sentiment I wanted to blend the colors together so I was afraid that my markers would get ruined. So...I decided to pick up reinker with a blending Pen. I could touch where I wanted then just clean it off. It worked GREAT!!!! I thought the coverage was excellent too! I believe I may be doing more of this for my card camps. I don't have to worry about my markers being ruined! Here is a close up of the coverage and blending...
My difficulty came in when finishing off the card. Finally I had to say STOP!! I am pleased with the final product and may even frame this card to remind me that things do work out...eventually!
Thanks for stopping!
Aimee
