Summer Melon

Here is a quick post for the CASology challenge for this week...

I added the Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the melon to give it that luscious, juicy look. I used a dimensional to pop it off the page. I don't use this stamp from Word Play very often but thought it would be perfect here!

Little Miss Piggy

I have been working on some cards to give to a friend that is graduating from high school. She told me that she will be Pen Pals with two little girls she babysat for. I thought I would make her some cute cards that she could send these little girls to make them feel special while she is away at school. I had to share this "Little Miss Piggy.."
This pig is from Button Buddies and her crown is from Every Little Bit. My friend Shana Gaff gave me the idea of placing a crown on this pig and now I have to do it every time I use this stamp!! LOL The Googlie Eyes are peek form the new Holiday Catalog from Stampin' Up being released on August 1!! Lots of fun new goodies! I am a sucker for circles and thought this would add to the whimsical feel to the card. I am sure these little girls will love getting this card in the mail!

Ha-pe 4 u!!

I found a new FUN challenge to try! It is CASology. Our challenge is to create a Clean And Simple card using the word "happy." I have a hard time knowing when to stop adding to my cards, so I thought this would be a great way to think outside my "box."  :) I also used the color palette this week from the colourQ Challenge #146.

I used the new "Notable Alphabet" to make a phonetic spelling of "happy." I used parts of the letters in the alphabet to apply the accents to the letters. I added just a little splash of color trying to keep it CAS. My daughter figured out what it said so I assume everyone else should too! LOL!!
Thanks for taking a peek!

Pretty Princess

My cousin, Laura, asked me to help her come up with an idea for her daughter's 4th birthday party which is a princess theme...of course! My challenge was to design something that is easily recreated as well as easily mailed. Here is the card...
Of Course a girl has to have some "Bling" as well!! The crown was created using the extra large oval punch and the large oval punch from Stampin' Up. I used the Big Shot Adhesive sheets to adhere the Dazzling Diamonds to the crown. This was so much fun for me to create my first "Punch Art Original." :)

Papillon Butterfly

Happy Sunday! I was up bright and early this morning working in my craft room. I wanted to try a simple card for this weeks colourQ Challenge #145. I am in love with several of the new Stampin' Up! stamp sets this year and used two on this card.

I used the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and Summer Silhouettes. The Butterfly I stamped on vellum then colored on the back with Stampin' Write Markers. I used the new coordinating Elegant Butterfly punch to punch out the butterfly. This was lots of fun and very quick and easy to do!

Home Sweet Home

We are back from a wonderful vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC! We had perfect weather...Lots of heat and sunshine! It was so much fun to spend every day in the ocean. I will share some pictures in the days to come but I just had to get back into the swing of things! I feel like it has been forever since I have created something!
I am having a bit of trouble finding my groove but I was so happy when I saw the clean sketch for Freshly Made Sketches this week. I decided to make a baby card for my cousin who just had a beautiful little boy named George. I get to meet him today and am so excited! Here is the card that I came up with...
I just had to have this new stamp set,"Bug Me," from Stampin' Up! I initially thought of making "Girl Cards," but thought this would make a fun Baby card too! I used a VersaMarker to color the wings and add Iridescent Ice embossing powder to give the wings a sparkle.
