Beauty....

I have not much time at all lately to make cards, but I have been taking alot of pictures. I have to share with you some Senior pictures I took of a beautiful girl named Elizabeth and her horse Cherry. We had so much fun visiting their home and enjoying an afternoon in the beautiful scenery. My daughter Brooke went with me and she fell in love with the horses. Here are a few photos...
If you would like to see more of Elizabeth's pictures you can see them HERE.
Thank you so much Elizabeth for a wonderful afternoon!

"Green" Tree

This week the CASology challenge #7 clue word is "green." When I first thought of this I thought of the color green but then also the thought of "being green" entered my mind; the idea of doing what we can to save this beautiful planet that God has entrusted us with. While I do a little, I could do much more to help our planet. ANYWAYS...this is my take on the CASology challenge this week...
When I think of "being green" trees always enter my mind. I used the Betsy's Blossoms large stamp and stamped it 3 times; once with Gumball Green, Lucky Limeade, and Certainly Celery. I then used the 2 1/2, 1 3/4 and 1 inch punches to punch out and layer the tree. I like how this gave the tree some dimension. The trunk of the tree was cut out freehand using the Core'dinations paper. I then used the Wood grain Impressions folder to add some texture to the truck.. The grass is a stamp from the Dinoroar stamp set and the sentiment is from the Hostess Set Summer Afternoon. I thought by adding a heart this would be another subtle touch of how we should care about our beautiful planet and all God has blessed us with.

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday everyone! I am ready for a fun but busy weekend! I have some of my favorite challenges to catch up on first though. This week at colourQ #151 I was so excited about the color combination. Some of the Design Team used Halloween based themes for these colors which I thought worked perfectly!! I will be doing this in the future but ended up working on a masculine birthday card for this challenge...
One of my most favorite stamp sets is Circle Circus. It is so much fun to use when I want to make my own stamped designer paper. I used the new Finishing Touches Edgelits to add a little splash of Tempting Turquoise to the edge of the stamped paper. I also found that the square shaped Apothecary Accents Framelits fit perfectly over the Decorative Label Punch. I added a new star over the Word Play stamp. This is the star from Itty Bity Stamp set with the matching punch. I used the same punch to add the dots around the big circle. I loved the dimension this added to the card and it will still fit into a standard envelope.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Get Well Blossoms

Whew!! Just under the wire!I was so excited to do this Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge #214! I am in LOVE with the new incolors from Stampin'Up and am so glad that we have them for 2YEARS!! I had not used the Build a Blossom punch with matching stamp set in a while and thought this would be a perfect chance to break it back out!!

I also just bought the Perfectly Penned stamp set and just love using it! The size is perfect as well as the little bit of flourish the font adds.

Welcome Home!

Yesterday my mom came home from the hospital. She had a major surgery last Thursday and is recovering very well! She is such an inspiration to me! I Love you MOM!
She was given many gifts while in the hospital. I told her I would make some Thank you cards. I thought this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches would be perfect!

This was a very simple card to duplicate.I love to add lots of texture to my cards and I liked the look of the Midnight Muse strips scored. I was amazed at how much that simple little touch added.
Thanks for stopping by for a peak!

Simple Sympathy

Hello All! I have been in desperate need of some "stamping therapy!" I finally got a chance to make a few cards. Here is a sympathy card I made that has a very basic layout. I used lots of new goodies from the Holiday Stampin' Up Catalog. I love the look of stenciling a shape and stamping an image inside. With the new piercing templates you can add a touch of texture as well.
I used the Wood grain Impressions folder for the background as well as some Taffeta Ribbon. I was very pleased with the simplicity yet classic look of this card.
Thanks!!

Happy Birthday Girls!!

Reese
Paige

Today is the day that 2 of my nieces were born...7 years ago!!! They bring so much joy, love and laughter to everyone around them! They are twins but very unique in their own special ways. I love you Reese and Paige and hope you have a terrific Birthday!!!

So...in honor of their birthday I thought I would post one of their birthday cards. I just loved the Freshly Made Sketches #47 this week and thought it would make a great birthday card. I missed the colourQ challenge last week but LOVED the colors so I decided to use them for this card. I used the Blue Ribbon stamp set with banners. You can never go wrong with banners! I knew I would love to use this stamp set the first time I saw it. It is so versatile! I colored the small pearl on the flower with a Sharpie. It is amazing how it takes on the colors in the card. I also scored the Pink Pirouette background for some added texture.
