{heart} U!

I have a quick post today for the Dynamic Duos #30 Challenge and Retrosketches #50 Challenge. I have missed palying these challenges so much and I was happy I could use the inspiration together on the same card.

This card is different than most I create. I realized after I was finished that I hadn't used any of my stamps! I almost added some stamping but thought I should just leave it alone. I love the look of chipboard that is not covered and thought this would be a great time to try that look for my own design. I would love to know what you think!!
Thanks for stopping!!

Tile Technique

I had a wonderful time a couple weeks ago at a demonstator party hosted by my upline, Shana Gaff and her upline, Nikki Holt. We stamped and talked and I enjoyed meeting some fellow demonstrators. We also had a card swap that night as well and I decided to share a card that we had made at our last card camp. Here it is...
I decided to make a card with an appearance of a tiled background. This reminds me of something you might see in a kitchen. This is such a fun technique that is fairly simple to do. I began by scoring every inch with the Diagonal Plate then turning 1/4 and scoring again. I then used a clear acrylic block and applied Cajun Craze ink directly to the block. I gently rubbed the inked block over the surface to add some flecks of color. I then layered Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy, Soft Suede, Cajun Craze, and Early Espresso applied with sponges. I also sponged Soft Suede over the Comfort Cafe DSP to allow the color to match better.  The stamped images are from Summer Silhouettes and Papillon Potpourri.
Have a great day!!!

Sale-a-bration Birthday

My friend, Lisa, came to my house today for a visit. We decided to spend some time chatting and stamping and ended up making a card for a birthday party her daughter was attending tonight. I love the sketch for the Mojo Monday Challenge #279 this week, and thought it would make a great birthday card.

This is a very simplied version of the sketch. We did use many of the SAB items for this card. This DSP is so much fun to layer and I love all the patterns. We framed the front of the card using the Framed Tulips Impressions Folder. One of my FAVORITE Sentiment stamp sets is "Sassy Salutaions." We added some Rhinestones for a little "Bling."
Thanks again for looking!!

Tons of Thanks

Well....it has been almost 3 months since my last post. I must say I have missed hearing from the wonderful people I have met in the blogging world. I decided to dust my keyboard off and share with you today a card I made for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #72. I loved this simple clean sketch!

I decided to use some of the new goodies I ordered form Sale-a-bration. I love the Sycamore Street DSP and the stamp set Patterned Occasions. I stamped the sentiment from this stamp set separately and the used the Itty Bitty Banner Framelits to cut it out.
I used the piercing tool to pierce a circle in the Large Scallop Punch. I realized this acted as a perforation allowing me to bend the scallops upward very easily. I thought this looked a little like a bottle cap. :) Here is a closer look...

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope to be back a little sooner this time!! :)
