One of my favorite times of the year is when the new Stampin' Up! Catalog is released! I look forward to it for months! When I got it in my hands in May, I combed over it for days tyring to figure out which sets I MUST have ASAP! :) Well, this has rubbed off on my kids. My son, Brett, who is 4 found a favorite set that he wanted...DINOROAR! We have stamped a little together with this set and he loves to color the images after he stamps. I decided this would make a wonderful birthday card for him this year. I saw this wonderful challenge sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #50 that I thought would work perfectly...
I wanted the dinosaurs to have some interesting color so I chose Lucky Limeade, Midnight Muse, and Tempting Turquoise. I used a piece of Shimmery White card stock and added some color randomly all over the page by picking up some reinker with an Aquapainter. to make the color flow I spritzed the paper lightly before and after adding the reinkers. I then stamped the images using Black StazOn. I think this made the dinosaurs more "reptile"in appearance. The ground was created by using the Core'dinations paper and embossing it with the Woodgrain Impressions Folder. I used several dimensionals as well to give a great 3D look to the card even though it is difficult to see in the picture.
When I showed it to my son, he LOVED it! His birthday isn't until September 26, but I am horrible at keeping surprises a secret!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!!
