Floral Happiness

Since things have been a little crazy around my house, I have missed joining in on challenges lately. I always love it when I have the time to join the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week is a color challenge and the Design Team, once again, has given us some great inspiration to begin.
The cards I have been making of late have been CAS cards..not alot of layers and very easy to replicate. I decided for this challenge I wanted to spend some time and create some different layered flowers. I used several punches to create the flowers as well as some different techniques to add texture. If you look close you can see that I used the blossom punch for the large flower. I used a bone folder to breakdown the card stock so I way able to pull apart the layers. I love the texture this adds to the flower. I also used some Shimmer Paint and added to the Night of Navy flowers as well as the ends of the "scrunched" flower. This flower was created by using the new smaller scalloped punch. I punched Rich Razzleberry DSP 5 times, added a brad in the middle, spritzed with water and "scrunched." The water allows you to mold the paper more but also makes the flower more stiff when it dries. Here is a close up picture...

Sometimes I don't know when to stop when I am adding details, but I think this worked out just fine.
Thanks for stopping by!
