Summer Sunshine

Fall is my most favorite time of the year but I do love that Summer sun! This week is Monochromatic week at Dynamic Duos #26 which means the same color in different hues. The colors of choice are So Saffron and More Mustard. I thought I could make a fun sunshine card with these colors!

I tried the Starburst technique several weeks ago and loved the outcome. I thought, "Why not make a SUNburst?" I used So Saffron DSP and More Mustard card stock. You can see HERE the instructions on the technique on the blog, Handmade by Julie. I used the Wood grain Impressions Folder to give the More Mustard Sun rays a little more texture. I punched the sun from So Saffron Card stock with the 1 3/8 circle punch. I sponged More mustard to add some dimension. I also sponged on the edges of the card face. I found the perfect sentiment in Pursuit of Happiness.
Check out all the great inspiration from the Dynamos and join in on the fun!! This is my last week as a Guest Designer. It has been so much fun and I have enjoyed working with this amazing team!! Thank you so much Dynamos! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I am hoping to get back to more crafting very soon!! I have been taking and editing SO many portraits lately it has been cutting in to my crafting time! ;)

Sunflower Picnic

Happy Sunday!! I decided to jump in on a challenge today! The Hand Stamped Sentiments #140-Inked Embossing Folder.

The bottom part of this card shows the results from the Inked Embossing Folder technique. This is one of my favorite techniques to show in a class. People are amazed at the results every time. I thought the Build a Blossom punch would make a great focal image for this Summertime card. I added a little dazzling details in the center of the flower for some bling. The sentiment is from the retired Faith in Nature stamp set.
I hope you enjoy your beautiful day!!

Merry Snowmen

I came across and new challenge blog that I am very excited to try! The theme is Christmas ALL YEAR ROUND! It is the Merry Monday #37. I feel like I really need some help with Chritmas Card designs and I am sure this will help!

I love the new Frosty Friends stamp from Stampin' Up!  I framed it using the Label Framelits. I stamped the sentiment from Sassy Salutations on Vellum. I liked how this diddn't break up the view of the DSP but made it possible to use this larger sentiment.

Dynamic Duos #25

I ma so excited for another great challenge at Dynamic Duos #25 this week! This is Black Tie week with the colors Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black AND a the desert option is using die cuts. Well, I love to use die cuts so I knew what I wanted to do right away...
I think I went a little die cut crazy! I really like how adding die cuts can add so much dimension to a card. My frame is made from the Label Framelits. I cut two different size frames and layered them on top of each other with dimensionals. I also used some homemade shimmer mist made with alcohol and shimmer paint. I thought this gave the frame a bit of a "spooky" look. The pumpkins are made with punches; small oval, large oval and 3/4 inch circle. I punched out 3 of the same shapes and layered them. I also added some ink to the edge with sponge daubers to add to the dimension.
This card was so much fun to make and assemble! You must see the wonderful inspiration from the other design team members and play along at Dynamic Duos!

"Fab Five" Snowmen

I was so excited to open my last Stampin' Up! order and see that the Frosty Friends stamp had arrived! I was so excited to use it right away! I looked up some challenges and thought I would join in on the fun at Fab Friday 04 color challenge and Freshly Made Sketches #56.  Also I found the Just Add Ink #139 challenge was to use something new! I have a new stamp and a new technique to share! So here is my card...

To color my five little guys I used Blender pen with ink from the top of stamp pad lids. I thought the Summer Starfruit would give a nice sunset color behind the snowmen too. It is hard to tell from the picture I took but the snowmen are puffy as well. I learned this FABULOUS technique from Leslie Orman and had to try it right away! She said to trace the snowmen with the stylus from the Simply scored. Turn the snowmen over and in a press is a circular motion filling in the bodies of the snowmen. AMAZING!!! I love techniques that are so simple but blow my socks off...Why didn't I think of that?? Great job Leslie and thanks for sharing!!
I do love the fall but this card makes me excited for the Winter season too! I am sure you will be seeing these "Fab Five" Snowmen often!

Beautiful Butterflies

I decided to join in on the one layer challenge this week at Less is More Challenge Blog with the theme "wings."  I used the beautiful colors from the Color Me Beautiful Challenge.

I used the Papillon Butterfly and wanted it to appear to fly across the card. The grass is from the DinoRoar stamp set. I kept thinking I should add something else but then decided that this is what a one layer card is all about. :)

Fun Fall Leaves

I am so excited to have some time to make some cards this weekend! I have been missing out on some great challenges lately. One challenge that I have been wanting to join is the Nacho Average Challenge and this week was a sketch I couldn't pass up! I thought I would add the colors from the ColourQ challenge  #158 and see what I came up with.

These colors really screamed Halloween to me but I thought I would try another twist. Leaves can be full of so many colors. When I added the Orchid Opulence with the More Mustard and Tangerine Tango I loved the colors that were produced. I used the French Foliage Stamp Set with the Rock-n-roll technique. I used sponge daubers to add the color too. I used the splatter stamp to being out the brighter tones of the Orchid Opulence. This was a very fun and quick card to make and one that would look different every time depending on how you color the leaves.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Dynamic Duos #24-Subtly Yours

Happy Saturday everyone! We have a new challenge ready for you at Dynamic Duos! The challenge is divided into weekly themes. This week for the Dynamic Duos Challenge we are using soft romantic colors.
When I first saw these colors, I thought I would make a winter card, but I just couldn't make it happen. Fall is my most favorite time of year and I guess my brain just wasn't ready to think about the next season!!
I really love the look the a square card. This size is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 so it will still fit into a standard envelope. I also LOVE to use ribbon on my cards! Many times they don't look complete without it! On this card I used a double layer of ribbon. I used the Soft Suede Taffeta ribbon but underneath it placed Pool Party Seam Binding. I could have used Pool Party Card stock, but the double layer of ribbon added to the "softness" of the card. I also love how the Oval Impressions folder fits very nicely inside the Label Framelit. Just a note..I cut out the Framelit first then used the Impressions folder.
Here is the list of the "Dynamo" Design Team! Check out the wonderful inspiration they have for this week's Challenge and join in on the fun!!

I am hoping to be spending lots of time in my craft room today so I may be back for another post!!
Thanks for stopping by!!

I am Back!

Did you think I fell off the face of the earth?! I have been so busy taking portraits lately I haven't had a lot of extra time to spend stamping. But I am back!! WooHOO! I have so very exciting news to share as well....I have been asked to be a Guest Designer for the month of October for the wonderful Challenge Blog, DYNAMIC DUOS! I have been playing along very often since this challenge began and am so honored to be working with these extremely talented designers. The first color combo this month is "Bold and Sassy."

..and here is what I came up with...

Believe it or not, this is my first time using the Triple Treat stamp from Stampin' Up. When I first saw it, I fell in love with it but had not taken it out to use until now. With the Triple Treat stamp, it has 3 cooresponding punches that can be used too. I love to leave white space on my card. I think it brings out the focal image even more. The setniment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. This is a wonderful stamp set to go to for the perfect sentiment every time.
Stop by Dynamic Duos Challenge Blog and join in on the fun! Also check out the wonderful inspiration from the Design Team.

Thanks for stopping by and have a Blessed Day! :)
